While Jade’s condition is undiagnosed, I did want to mention my reference to PTSD. The National Institute of Mental Health describes PTSD as a disorder that develops in some people who have experienced a shocking, scary, or dangerous event.

While each experience and resulting symptom(s) vary widely, I did want to acknowledge that the PTSD.va.gov website states about twelve-million adults in the U.S. have PTSD any given year. That’s about six out of one hundred people, according to their calculations.

Keep an eye out for your fellow humans. They might not display noticeable symptoms like Jade. Since she’s a fictional character, I allowed liberties. Nonfictional humans are a lot more complex.
